Universe began with a simple question...
What if a world-class championship could better serve the entire cheer and dance community by being collectively owned and democratically governed by the Event Producers who build the pathway to it?
The industry is ready for a championship built differently. Universe is designed around a permanent Event Producer-controlled operating-company structure in which qualified participating EPs, collectively as a class, are intended to hold 60% of the ownership and voting authority. Professional management provides brand, technology, infrastructure, continuity and execution.
Qualifying Event Producers participating in the inaugural season may receive official Founders Producer recognition for 2027–2028 and help shape early operating standards, technology and workflows.
Universe is being built by people who understand event production, gym operations, and what families actually experience on championship weekend.
The ownership and governance model is intended to remain durable, independent, and resistant to unilateral corporate capture. Major decisions, including budget approvals and venue and location bid approvals, are designed to require broad alignment at the annual Event Producer conference.
Athletes deserve a destination worthy of their season. Coaches deserve clear rules. Families deserve a weekend they can navigate. Event Producers deserve a stake in the system they help build. Partners deserve a platform that lasts longer than one event cycle.
Universe is designed around a unified scoring system that allows teams to bring routines from multiple industry governing score sheets. Rules, resources, and updates will be published from a single source of truth.
